My name is Panit Tan. I'm a photographer based in St. Louis, MO.  Thank you for visiting my new male portrait photography page where I  share the love of male photography to the world. 

 

My photography journey began when I was 12 years old when my mom came back from Japan with a Nikon 35mm film camera as a present.  Back in the early 80's I was one of the few kids at school carrying a camera around, taking pictures of random things like pets, people, buildings, trees, flowers, etc.  As a kid, I was fascinated with the concept that I was able to freeze or capture time on film.

Fast forward a few decades, I found myself behind the lens again.  My fascination has grown to a passion for capturing images of people.  It started out as a hobby shooting portraits of friends and family, until later I found my true passion capturing men's physiques.  I built a studio from scratch and experimented different lighting techniques that fit my unique style of work.  You can see from my work, I used shadow as much as light to enhance jaw lines and muscles to bring out dramatic impact.  It's been a wild ride in the past four years, I had opportunities working with professional models, influencers, Broadway actors and entertainers around the country.
